The astonishing kindness of strangers.

Since being diagnosed six months ago, one of the themes of my life is now the kindness of people and how much it can lift my spirits and make a difference. My mom, Nancy and I were recently talking about it.

I have had people reach out and come to visit from all over the world and haven’t had the chance to post some videos from them. So, here they are! I am so thankful for all of them!!!

Ana is such sunshine and joy when she comes to visit and is always willing to play around with me and be silly or I can put her to work helping me organize. I am so thankful for every minute I get to spend with her.

My cousin Libby made a special stop to see me. Someone who is willing to spend their vacation going with you to the hospital is amazing.

The kindness is not just from friends and family. I now see it everywhere. There is so much goodness in people. We have some amazing volunteers at the hospital that are just there to offer support and lift people’s spirits.

A few months ago, I was told that my boobs are trying to kill me and being misdiagnosed for two years allowed them to recruit throughout the rest of my body by way of my spine. Before this, I knew f*ck all about cancer. Now, between sipping chemo cocktails, I want to talk about the truth of living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer with my support system and people I have met along the way to recovery.
