Dog Therapy

Even before I was diagnosed, one of the greatest comforts and sources of joy in my life was my dogs. Now, more than ever, they have been there by my side whenever possible.

I have been lucky enough to work with St. John’s Ambulance’s Dog Therapy program to bring my own Nucky to visit people in many different scenarios. I was on the other side of this program when they visited me while I was in the hospital. I have always known the power, strength and love that these visits can give to a person in distress or pain and I was so grateful to have them visit me.

We are now 5 dogs strong at home – with Ana’s dog Chicco now joining the family – and these little and big guys are essential to keeping my spirits up.

Getting everyone organized can take a little time….

Nucky is the prince and needs a prime spot.

About The Author

A few months ago, I was told that my boobs are trying to kill me and being misdiagnosed for two years allowed them to recruit throughout the rest of my body by way of my spine. Before this, I knew f*ck all about cancer. Now, between sipping chemo cocktails, I want to talk about the truth of living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer with my support system and people I have met along the way to recovery.
