Update from Al: Recovery

Hi everyone, it’s Al.

Since my last update, Karla has been recovering from her spine surgery and is doing well.  Some pain is still present, and it might be for some time as she continues to heal. She also had a bone scan on July 11 and a CT scan on July 17th. Results from both are encouraging as there was no evidence of any new cancer lesions or any growth in the existing tumors. These scans according to the experts do not precisely indicate if the tumor is still there or if in fact its simply new bone growth occurring. They refer to these spots by the term bone flares. The strategy is to continue her current cancer meds, namely Ibrance along with her other 20 daily pills! and do scans in another 3 months.

We continue to work with the oncologists and Private Health Management to address other options like various immunotherapy treatments, vaccines to support the immune system and all possible trials on the horizon.

I want to thank all of you for your support and wonderful messages and gestures of love. Karla truly appreciates the support from her extensive global community! Keep those positive thoughts and prayers coming!

Thank you

A few months ago, I was told that my boobs are trying to kill me and being misdiagnosed for two years allowed them to recruit throughout the rest of my body by way of my spine. Before this, I knew f*ck all about cancer. Now, between sipping chemo cocktails, I want to talk about the truth of living with Stage 4 Breast Cancer with my support system and people I have met along the way to recovery.
